Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Senior Bookkeeper for a group of affiliated companies based in Guelph, Ontario. This role will support the financial operations of three entities and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

What You’ll Be Responsible For Full-Cycle Accounting

  • Managing full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable across multiple entities
  • Processing invoices, coding expenses, issuing payments, and performing reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for each company

Payroll Administration

  • Overseeing end-to-end payroll processing across all entities
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and timely remittances
  • Maintaining payroll records and resolving discrepancies

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Supporting external accountants and auditors during year-end

Multi-Entity Coordination

  • Ensuring consistency and organization across all company books
  • Managing intercompany transactions where applicable
  • Prioritizing tasks across multiple businesses effectively

Process Improvement & Support

  • Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows
  • Supporting leadership with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis
  • Liaising with vendors and external stakeholders as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper, ideally in a multi-entity or consulting environment
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience managing accounting functions across multiple companies simultaneously
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism
