Job Title: MIG Welder

Job Summary: As a MIG Welder, your primary role will be to perform welding operations to preassemble structural components, ensuring the fabrication of high-quality, safe, and durable products. This position is vital to the construction and manufacturing industries, contributing to the creation of structural elements used in various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welding and Fabrication:

    • Utilize MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding techniques to weld structural components, including beams, columns, and frames.
    • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements and specifications.
    • Set up and adjust welding equipment, selecting appropriate settings for different materials and thicknesses.
    • Assemble and join metal parts accurately according to project plans.
  2. Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
    • Use non-destructive testing methods when necessary to verify weld integrity.
    • Make adjustments to welding equipment as needed to maintain welding quality.
  3. Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Comply with industry-specific safety regulations and standards.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  4. Equipment Maintenance:

    • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure proper functioning.
    • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or the need for repairs promptly.
  5. Documentation:

    • Keep accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, time spent on projects, and any issues encountered.
    • Complete welding logs and production reports as required.
  6. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with team members, including engineers and fabricators, to meet project goals and deadlines.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure project requirements are met.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder, with a focus on welding structural components.
  • Welding certification or relevant training preferred.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment, tools, and safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in welding.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in various positions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
  • Must have own weld-helmet 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy materials (potentially up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfort working in various positions, including kneeling, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Tolerance for exposure to welding fumes and potential loud environments.
