About the Role
We are a family-owned security systems company seeking an experienced Alarm and Service Technician to join our growing team. We have been actively hiring for this role and are now focused on finding a qualified, long-term fit who values communication, reliability, and craftsmanship.
This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys hands-on field work, working directly with clients, and being part of a close-knit team.
Current Team
- Two field installers who work together
- One service technician nearing retirement
- One access control and IT associate handling backend support
You will be a key addition to this team and play an important role in maintaining and supporting existing systems.
Client Base and Service Area
- Primary coverage in Will County
- Additional service areas include Chicago and regions south toward Bourbonnais
- Preference for candidates who live in Will County
Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, and maintain:
- Access control systems
- Burglar alarm systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Camera and video systems
- Demonstrate hands-on technical knowledge using an alarm test panel during the interview process
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Coordinate closely with internal team members
- Participate in a limited on-call rotation
Note: All door striker and locksmith work is completed by a licensed locksmith.
Schedule and On-Call Expectations
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Overtime is minimal and only used when it makes sense to complete a job
- On-call rotation:
- One weekend per month
- One weekday per week
- On-call situations are rare and usually resolved via phone troubleshooting
- Scheduling is managed through OneDrive and shared with the team

- Proven hands-on experience with access control, alarm, fire, and camera systems
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable work history
- Professional references required (references will be verified prior to hire)
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $35–$45 per hour, based on experience
