Scale Clerk

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Scale Clerk to support daily operations at our scrap yard. This role is responsible for accurately weighing inbound and outbound vehicles, maintaining records, and ensuring proper documentation for all materials. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in both an office and outdoor environment, and able to manage tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Weigh all inbound and outbound vehicles using the scale system
• Inspect incoming loads and direct drivers to appropriate unloading areas
• Operate the scale computer system and apply correct material and inventory codes
• Prepare and process accurate paperwork for shipments and purchases
• Perform data entry and maintain organized records of transactions
• Provide excellent customer service to drivers, vendors, and customers
• Maintain the scale house and ensure surrounding yard areas remain clean and organized
• Communicate effectively via phone and in person to support daily operations

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a waste, recycling, or scrap yard environment preferred
• Strong computer, data entry, and basic math skills
• Previous clerical or administrative experience in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

• Monday- Friday 7Am- 4:30PM
