We are a well‑established industrial contractor in Red Wing seeking a Temporary Human Resources Generalist to support our office team. This short‑term assignment is ideal for someone who is motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll handle a wide range of HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, recruiting, benefits administration, and general HR processes.
Success in this role requires strong multitasking skills, the ability to meet deadlines, teamwork, and the ability to work independently on repetitive tasks.
Key Responsibilities

Process new hires, terminations, employment verifications, and employee changes

Communicate company policies, procedures, and benefits to employees

Maintain and update employee files

Lead recruitment and hiring efforts as needed

Manage benefit administration including renewals, enrollments, and COBRA (with broker support)

Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws

Assist with employee training, testing, and scheduling licensing exams

Support Safety Manager with workers’ compensation incidents

Track and maintain employee licenses and records

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
2+ years of Human Resources experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Strong communication and organizational skills

Construction or related industry experience preferred

Excellent prioritization, research, and attention to detail

Ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
