Job description: Looking for for candidates:
A mechanical drafter.
Experience with measurements or formal technical training.
Experience or training with SolidWorks.
Experience working in a machine shop would be a asset
Looking for a hands-on, mechanically minded Drafter who is skilled with SolidWorks, understands mechanical design, and can perform accurate measurements using tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Experience in a machine shop, reverse engineering parts, or working with tight geometric tolerances is a strong asset.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Mechanical Design Supervisor will support engineering, production, and quality teams by producing accurate 3D models, drawings, and inspection documentation. You will work directly with centrifuge components, machined parts, and rotating equipment, often reverse-engineering assets to create precise and reliable designs.

Key Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and mechanical components.
Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
Operate CAD workstations and maintain organized drawing datasets.
Develop engineering drawings, layouts, diagrams, and full documentation packages.
Reverse engineer parts and assemblies using accurate measurement tools.
Perform dimensional and visual inspections on machined components.
Conduct first-part, first-article, and in-process inspections.
Detect, document, and control non-conforming products.
Maintain organized quality and inspection records.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production staff to ensure manufacturability and accuracy.

Requirements:
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
Ability to use or learn to use:
Micrometers
Calipers
Height gauges
OD ring gauges
Thread lead/profile gauges
Other precision measuring tools
Understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to reverse engineer components with accuracy.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field.
Machine shop experience is a strong advantage.
Mechanical aptitude is essential.
