Job Summary: A Carton/Carboard Manufacturing company in Corona is looking for a Material Handler to add to their team!

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly and precisely with internal and external customers and/or suppliers.
  • Prioritize tasks, self-directed and fast learner.
  • Learn and follow all safety rules.
  • Work in fast-paced environment to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Material Handling

  • Assist with roll movement.
  • Coordinate clean, efficient movement of stock to the press.

 

Aerating

  • Prepare loads for the printing presses and die cutters. This includes rub testing, aerating and repiling, pulling purple, red and blue lines as necessary.
  • Prepare loads for shipment that require outside processing. This includes rub testing, aerating, repiling, banding, as necessary.
  • Band and remove waste loads from the aerator.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on aerator.
  • Fill out aerating check list on computer for die cutting or stamping process.

 

Roll Tending

  • Check schedule and inventory for upcoming jobs.
  • Stage rolls in reverse order of the schedule provided.
  • Remove completed jobs / cores from roll stand.
  • Mark rolls with measurement and date.
  • Insert plugs on return rolls.
  • Remove waste from cores and dispose.
  • Empty scrap basket.
  • Extract loads from sheeter and store in staging area.
  • Organize staging area as needed ensuring pallets belonging to the same job are next to each other.
  • Collect empty pallets from the production floor.
  • Check ream cutting schedule and cut as needed.
  • Prepare loads for the 106XL printing press as needed.
  • When necessary use load turner to put loads on correct pallets.
  • Move completed loads to the Printing Department staging area.
  • Unband and palletize sheeted stock from outside vendors.
  • Ream cut jobs as they appear on the schedule.
  • Assist with Receiving duties as needed.

 

 

ISO/Documentation/Continuous Improvement

  • Collect, input, and retrieve data from the computer.
  • Record manufacturing activities and data accurately and completely.
  • Initiate involvement in creative solutions and implement improvements to team quality processes.
  • Adhere to and promote compliance to ISO 9001, safety, quality standards and company procedures and immediately report any nonconformance to supervision.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Distinguish colors accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to walk, stand and/or bend and manual dexterity for duration of work period.
  • Stack, lift, pull, push and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout shift.
  • Excellent eye to hand coordination.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Reach and handle materials.

 

 

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Read and understand English
  • Team player, detail oriented, trouble shooter, resourceful
  • Basic math skills (4 function including fractions)
  • Strong work ethic
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Prefer forklift and roll clamp experience
  • Prefer 6 months related experience

Pay: $16.50

  

Schedule: Monday-Friday 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a warehouse
  • Knowledge of operating a forklift
  • Ability to work on feet for 8 hours and carry loads up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to work independently and safely
