We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup Operator to join our team in Burlington. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with solid machining experience who can independently set up and run CNC lathes while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC machinery, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, and technical drawings to produce precise parts.
- Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages; modify programs as needed for different jobs.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Select and operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools for assembly or finishing processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist with material handling using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during machining operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery, especially CNC lathes and milling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of machining processes.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and familiarity with Fanuc controls.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs; ability to read blueprints accurately.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and program adjustments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to use calipers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation is preferred.
- Familiarity with machining materials and techniques such as welding or assembly is a plus.
