Location: On-site (small private office environment) East Mesa
Schedule: Flexible – Monday to Friday, approximately 25–30 hours/week (5–6 hours/day)
Pay: Starting at $25/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Office Generalist to support a 55+ retirement community. This role is heavily focused on accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and administrative operations. The ideal candidate is extremely proficient in QuickBooks and can work independently to establish structure, organization, and efficient processes within the office.
This is a non-customer-facing role for the most part, though occasional interaction with residents may be required in a friendly and accommodating manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions using QuickBooks
- Perform accurate data entry of receipts, invoices, and financial records
- Handle month-end close processes and financial reconciliation
- Process payroll for maintenance staff through ADP
- Assist with manual payroll entry for office staff
- Maintain and organize financial records, spreadsheets, and reports
- Prepare and manage tax-related documents (W-2s, W-4s, 1099s, etc.)
- Coordinate deposits and ensure timely financial processing
- Answer occasional phone calls from residents regarding reimbursements or basic inquiries
- Work closely with the Treasurer, President, and Accounting Manager
- Help create and improve office systems, processes, and organization
Qualifications
- Strong, hands-on expertise in QuickBooks (required)
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles
- Experience with payroll processing (ADP experience preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management
- Knowledge of tax documentation (W-2, W-4, 1099)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal structure
- Friendly, professional, and accommodating demeanor
