Job Overview

Our Express Employment Professionals client is seeking a Purchaser to support procurement activities by purchasing goods and services in alignment with departmental and organizational policies. This role works closely with production, engineering, estimating, and finance teams to ensure on-time delivery, cost control, and material availability.

Pay Rate

$55,000–$85,000 annually, based on skills and experience

Work Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 40+ hours per week expected
• Flexible schedule within core business hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience purchasing from engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs) in a fabrication or manufacturing environment with complex components
• Familiarity with materials such as:
  • Structural steel
  • Pressure piping components
  • Valves and instrumentation
  • Electrical wiring
  • Paint and insulation materials used in chemical processing or oilfield equipment
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Create and process purchase orders based on production requirements and company policies
• Ensure purchasing agreements are accurate, complete, and contain appropriate terms and conditions
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and estimating teams to forecast material needs and ensure availability
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and vendor information
• Analyze market trends and material cost fluctuations
• Coordinate with finance to ensure timely payments and optimized delivery schedules
• Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
• Support estimating activities by quoting materials and entering costs into estimating spreadsheets
• Source, evaluate, and onboard new vendors to improve pricing and lead times
• Negotiate pricing and terms with material and contract labor vendors
• Identify and investigate cost discrepancies or pricing anomalies
• Communicate proactively with internal teams regarding BOM accuracy, pricing, and scheduling concerns
• Support project execution by reviewing estimates and identifying cost or lead-time variances
• Ensure vendors comply with client specifications and sourcing requirements
• Ensure procurement activities align with production schedules and on-time delivery goals
• Responsibilities may be adjusted based on business needs and individual competencies

Physical Requirements

• Primarily desk-based work requiring sustained computer use, visual focus, and typing
• Occasional site walks requiring standing, walking, stooping, crawling, and use of tools
• Infrequent travel Colorado, Wyoming, and surrounding areas
