Building & Equipment Maintenance Technician (Electrical Focus)

Position Overview

Our Express Employment Professionals client in Douglas, Wyoming is seeking a Building & Equipment Maintenance Technician with an electrical focus. This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and efficiency of buildings, equipment, and electrical systems. The technician will perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance across multiple trades, including electrical, mechanical, and general facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and repairs on building, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and facility infrastructure
• Install, maintain, and test electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, electrical standards, and building regulations
• Assist with general facility tasks such as painting, carpentry, and landscaping
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance or electrical repair
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
• Physical stamina to lift equipment and work in varied conditions
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management

Preferred Certifications

• Electrical Technician Certification
• HVAC and/or Plumbing Certification
• OSHA Safety Training

Work Environment

• Industrial, commercial, or residential facilities
• May require shift work, on-call availability, working at heights, or in confined spaces

Pay Rate

$18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
