Express Employment Professionals of Caldwell is seeking an Estimator with technical and analytical skills to effectively estimate the costs of construction projects.

 

 

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $100,000 – $130,000 per year (DOE)

 

Position Overview

The Project Estimator assists the Superintendents and Project Managers in field work support, estimating, procurement, preparing reports, subcontracts, and providing overall support in every aspect of each project. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must.

 

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Building effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Actively participating in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image.

  • Participating in and supporting operations training programs and committing to the development of project staff and of self.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of assigned construction projects from start to finish
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budget.
  • Conduct regular site visits to inspect work quality, safety compliance, and progress.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including drawings, specifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Landscape/Horticulture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related.
  • Excellent working knowledge of construction procedures, building systems and tools
  • For our FALL 2025 hiring, construction estimating experience desired
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to solve problems and work under pressure
  • Knowledgeable at reading plans, shop drawings and specifications
  • Excellent math and computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with workers and trades.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Bluebeam, and Procore. HCSS Heavy Bid or B2W

  • generate / prepare RFI: 1 year (Preferred)

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in civil construction, excavation, or utility installation industries
  • Producing submittals: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Review submittals from subs: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Generate / prepare RFI: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Construction estimating: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Strong experience in HCSS Heavy Job, Heavy Bid and Microsoft Office Suite and Trimble
  • Construction estimating: 2 years (Preferred)

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
