Express Employment Professionals of Caldwell is seeking a Project Manager with extensive experience in managing ground down construction development and road projects. The ideal candidate will have completed bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management. This candidate will be responsible for managing projects documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. Equally important, this candidate will be familiar with estimating to understand activity budgets to develop overall job costs.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year Depending on Experience

 

Responsibilities:

• Exercise general supervision of multiple job sites to monitor and manage projects during each phase of construction.
• Create and execute project work plans and make appropriate revisions to meet changing needs.
• Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
• Manage day-to-day operation aspects of a project and scope.
• Manage and execute estimating and pricing aspects of projects, including creating realistic and comprehensive estimates and executing change pricing, as needed.

• Review and interpret bid documents, specifications, schedules, budgets & subcontracts to anticipate and resolve potential disputes.

• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Select and coordinate work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
• Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses.
• Supervise Project Engineers, review their reports, check on any reported difficulties, and correct any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
• Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.

• Responsible for ensuring that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule and project profitability forecast, monitoring the progress of construction activities on a regular basis and holding regular status meetings.
• Project accounting functions include managing the budget, tracking of team expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.
• Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Effective leadership and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with project management software and MS Office applications.
Valid driver license and willingness to travel

• Experience in managing public or institutional construction projects.
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.

Preferred Qualification

• Strong experience in HCSS Heavy Job, Heavy Bid and Microsoft Office Suite and Trimble Business Center
• 5-10 years in managing civil construction.

• Advanced experience with HCSS Heavy Job, Heavy Bid, and Trimble Business Center
• Familiarity with project design elements and dispute resolution.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and documentation control skills.
