🌟 Position Summary
The Ground Facilities Maintenance Director is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all buildings, facilities, and grounds of the Event Center under the direction of the Executive Director / Director of Operations. This role ensures the premises provide a safe, attractive, clean, and comfortable environment for clients, visitors, and employees to work, learn, enjoy events, and develop.
This position also supports broader facility operations, including transportation, workshops, marketing, recruitment support, and emergency response.
🔧 Essential Job Functions
- 👥 Supervise all custodial, building, and grounds maintenance staff
- 🛠️ Perform minor repairs on all buildings, equipment, and facility infrastructure
- 🔄 Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis
- 📋 Complete and maintain checklists and records for building equipment maintenance and scheduled procedures
- 🚐 Drive facility vehicles, including:
- Transporting workers
- Transporting materials and supplies between buildings
- Assisting with vehicle upkeep and maintenance
- 🚪 Repair doors and door locks
- 🚨 Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
- 🏗️ Assist with renovation and remodeling projects, including:
- Repair of plaster and drywall
- Painting building structures and interiors
- ❄️ Perform outdoor custodial duties, including snow and ice removal
- 💰 Obtain price estimates for supplies and equipment
- ✅ Obtain purchase approval for equipment and supplies
- 📊 Track budget expenses and order supplies as needed
- ➕ Perform other related duties as assigned to support facility operations
🧼 Additional Responsibilities & Skills
- 🧹 Operate and maintain equipment including but not limited to:
- Floor buffers and shampooers
- Mowers and trimmers
- Various hand and power tools
- 🧽 Maintain facility flooring including:
- Ceramic
- Vinyl tile
- Concrete
- Carpet
- 📖 Read and interpret chemical labels, charts, diagrams, and instructional materials
- 🧮 Perform basic mathematical calculations for measurements, materials, and budgeting
- 🗣️ Understand and respond to job instructions and exchange information clearly
💪 Physical Requirements
- 🚶 Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
- 🔁 Frequent bending, squatting, reaching overhead, and climbing
- 🧲 Continuous pushing or pulling
- 🏋️ Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
- 🪑 Ability to move furniture and heavy equipment
⏰ Schedule
- 📆 Schedule may vary based on event needs, client requirements, and facility operations
- 🎪 Evening, weekend, or event-based hours may be required
💰 Compensation
- 💵 $40,000 – $50,000 annually, based on experience
