Job Title: 2nd Shift Team Lead – Metal Fabrication

Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the metal fabrication department during second shift. This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The Team Lead will support, train, and motivate team members while acting as a key point of communication between employees and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise 2nd shift fabrication team members in daily production activities
• Ensure production schedules and deadlines are met
• Monitor quality of work to ensure compliance with company and customer standards
• Enforce safety policies and promote a safe work environment
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to team members
• Troubleshoot equipment, material, and workflow issues as they arise
• Coordinate with other departments (welding, machining, finishing) to maintain production flow
• Track productivity, attendance, and performance of team members
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift planning
• Maintain accurate production and quality records
• Communicate updates, issues, and performance metrics to management

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or related field
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, assembly)
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Basic computer skills (ERP systems, production tracking, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (noise, heat, etc.)

Schedule:

• 2nd Shift (typical hours: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, may vary based on production needs)
