Accounts Payable Clerk (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)

Location: Asheville, NC
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Pay: $21/hour

A well-established and highly respected construction company in the Asheville area is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a stable, growing organization known for its strong team environment and long-term career potential.

Position Overview:

This role supports a fast-paced accounting team by processing a high volume of invoices and assisting with various administrative and financial tasks across multiple departments. Ideal candidates enjoy working with data, staying organized, and collaborating across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify invoices against purchase orders
Code and route invoices for approval
Upload and process approved invoices
Accurately enter high volumes of data daily
Communicate with internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies
Review vendor statements to ensure accounts are current
Maintain and update vendor records
Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional manner
Assist with preparing invoices for scheduled payment runs
Provide general support to the accounting team
Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
Greet visitors and employees in a professional manner
Assist with purchase order requests
Perform general administrative duties such as filing and organizing documents
Qualifications:
Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred
Construction accounting or job costing experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting systems
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Primarily office-based role
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending or reaching
May occasionally lift or carry items up to 50 lbs
