Hours: 7am-5pm Mon-Fri  (may work longer hours and days may vary depending on workload)

We’re looking for a hands-on Plant Mechanic with millwright experience for a fertilizer company in Moore haven FL, who takes pride in keeping equipment running at peak performance. This is a high-impact role where your skills directly keep operations moving and production on track.

 

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the go-to expert for keeping our plant equipment reliable, efficient, and safe:

• Diagnoses, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, conveyors, motors, and mechanical systems
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
• Inspect machinery and run diagnostics to quickly identify issues
• Handle repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
• Weld components and perform fabrication as needed
• Maintain and service equipment with proper lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements
• Support continuous improvement by recommending maintenance best practices
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and communicate issues clearly

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Plant Mechanic or Millwright
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
• Welding experience (stainless steel a plus)
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail
• Commitment to safety and following established procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Your own set of hand tools

What the Job Requires

This is a physically demanding, hands-on role in a real industrial environment:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Comfortable working in hot, dusty, non-climate-controlled conditions
• Capable of climbing, bending, crawling, reaching, and working at heights
• Able to wear required PPE, including respirators (OSHA fit testing required)
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or off shifts as needed
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English for safety compliance
