About the Role:

We are currently working with our client in Brantford who is a specialized manufacturer offering precision metal fabrication, design, machining and additive manufacturing, and we are currently hiring a Brake Press Operator for their day shift. 

 

Must be able to come into our Hamilton office for an interview but the work is conducted in the Brantford facility. 

 

What You Will Be Doing:

 

• Set up and operate CNC and/or manual brake press machines to bend, form, and shape steel components
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to meet exact specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings based on material and job requirements
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure accuracy and quality
• Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain tolerances and production efficiency
• Safely handle raw materials and finished products (steel sheets, plates, etc.)
• Perform routine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
• Work closely with welders, fitters, and other team members to meet production deadlines

 

What We Are Looking For:

 

• Previous experience operating a brake press in a steel or metal fabrication environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong understanding of metal forming, tolerances, and measurements
• Experience using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, angle gauges, etc.)
• Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Knowledge of health & safety practices in a manufacturing setting
• Experience with CNC programming or setup (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf)
• Forklift or overhead crane experience
• Welding or fabrication experience
