Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Laser Operator to join one of our metal manufacturing teams. This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC fiber laser cutting machines to produce high‑quality metal components according to engineering drawings and production requirements. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate CNC fiber laser cutting machines, including loading materials, selecting programs, adjusting focal points, and monitoring machine performance to meet production schedules.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure compliance with blueprints, engineering specifications, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
  • Material Handling: Safely move raw materials and finished parts using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material‑handling equipment as required.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety policies, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document production data, material usage, and any part or machine issues and communicate them to supervisors or quality personnel.

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience operating CNC fiber laser cutting machines (such as Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar).
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings; familiarity with CAD software and/or basic G‑code knowledge is preferred.
  • Math & Measurement Skills: Strong math skills and proficiency using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy, including experience with Windows-based manufacturing or CNC interfaces.

 

Compensation

  • Pay is based on experience and skill level.
