This Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment / Rolling Stock position is ideal for an experienced mechanic who can work on diesel-powered mobile equipment including forklifts, trucks, vans, and other industrial rolling stock.

This Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment / Rolling Stock role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy industrial mobile equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 5:30 AM – 5:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Some Saturdays required

Job Overview – Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment / Rolling Stock

As a Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment / Rolling Stock, you will be responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered forklifts, trucks, and other industrial mobile equipment. This Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment / Rolling Stock role requires strong mechanical ability, troubleshooting skills, and hands-on experience with heavy equipment systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines and mobile equipment as a Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment / Rolling Stock
• Diagnose and repair forklifts, trucks, vans, and industrial rolling stock
• Inspect equipment to ensure roadworthiness and compliance
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic methods and tools
• Disassemble and repair defective mechanical components
• Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring instruments
• Fabricate or modify parts as needed for repairs
• Maintain inventory of parts and communicate maintenance needs
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently

Required Skills:

• Experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment / Rolling Stock
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mobile equipment systems
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues
• Experience using precision measuring tools
• Ability to work in an industrial environment with heavy equipment
• Strong attention to safety and detail
