Executive Director of Facilities

This role is responsible for planning managing and implementing all programs related to the delivery of facility services including daily operations across multiple work units budget and resource management staffing collaboration of policy development and project prioritization.
As a key member the director contributes to strategic planning resource allocation and the development of operational standards. This position leads the technical reviews of campus buildings and infrastructures to ensure compliance with the State of Colorado Federal standards and applicable regulations and prepares funding requests for repairs renovations and capital construction projects aligned with institutional and system wide priorities.
The Director overseas approximately 32 buildings totaling over 1.5 million square feet located across 250 acres of grounds and facilities. The role manages 61 personnel throughout subordinate managers setting performance goals conducting evaluations resolving conflicts and guiding hiring and training processes.
Additional responsibilities include forecasting and tracking expenditures, managing capital assets, approving purchases, negotiating in fractures related agreements developing short and long term operational plans ,determining annual business plans aligned with the University's mission, advising on policy implementation and coordination with the system of Office of General Counsel ,establishing staffing plans, and directly supervising divisional operations as a 2nd level Supervisor.
Requirements:
MBA or Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management. Licensed Architect or Engineer, or related certifications.
Knowledge of State Procurement and NFPA. Enterprise Asset Management Systems.
8 years exp managing large work units in a facilities environment. Exp managing Budgets, and Facilities Management exp.
Primary duties:
40% will be leadership and management develop and implement approved strategic plans policies and procedures for facilities management and campus development lead and manage the facilities management team including maintenance housekeeping.
30% process improvement in operational oversight leave the facility management divisions and identify and implementing operational changes to improve efficiency service delivery and cost effectiveness.
25% is budget and contract management calibrate what the facility's budget and an analyst to manage multiple facilities management budget allocations and adjusting values based on expense trends and forecast.
