Job Summary: 

Exhibit Shop Fabricator are responsible for the construction, assembly, repair, and maintenance of properties used in the exhibit and event industry. This role works under the direction of Builder IIs and Leads. As skill level increases and essential duties are mastered, advancement into a Builder II role is available.

Essential Duties: 

• Take instruction from lead, Builder II, PMs, foreman
• Make basic cuts on chop saw
• Tear down and pack booths
• Assemble wall structures
• Build and pack crates
• Conduct inventories and inspections
• Safe usage of our commonly used hand tools (table saw, drill press, routers, disc sanders, orbital sander, belt sander, wrenches, staple gun)
• Roll, spray and peel laminate for wall panels
• Frame wall panels (cut and assemble)
• Install cam locks
• Knowledge of our standards
• Make cuts on a table saw based on a cut list provided by lead or Builder II
• Stack and pack booths, wrap, clean, inventory, prep for shipment
• Number exhibit components
• Keep booth properties organized within the assembly area
• Keep personal bench area organized and clean
• Comply with safety rules and regulations
• Check, organize and stock materials
• Use forklift to move properties
• Clean shop (sweep, remove trash, clean out dust collectors)
• Physically set up exhibit components (lifting/moving/placing wall panels)
• Sand fit booth seems
• Clean and wipe down exhibit properties
• Roll out, measure, vacuum, seam and inspect carpet and pad
• Run errands
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Able to use measuring tools to prepare and layout materials
• Familiar with the safe usage of our commonly used hand power tools (table saw, drill press, routers, disc sanders, orbital sander, belt sander, wrenches, staple gun)
• Able to supply their own tools within a 90 day time period (tool box, tape measure, hammer, screwdrivers, pliers, side cutters, crescent wrench, hex key set, razor knife, magnetic screw tips, nail sets, vix bits, calculator, putty knives, faming square, flat bar, dead blow hammer, clamps, ratchet, drill index)
• Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and sketches to determine specifications
• Comfort with the common jigs we use for our common cuts
• Familiar with Pinnacle standards (wall sizes, building materials, finishes)
• Ability to drive a forklift
• 1 year of experience in the industry or related industry (cabinet shop, scenic design)
• Ability to work long hours as needed
• Reliable

Education: 

• High school diploma or equivalent

Working Conditions: 

• Usual shop working conditions
• Noise level in the work environment is typical of most production facility environments

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach, lift and manipulate objects communicating. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required for over 50% of the work period while operating typical equipment.
