Delivery Driver

Our client, a reputable construction company located in Centretown West, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join their team on a full‑time basis to backfill a recent retirement. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a stable, long‑term role with a company that genuinely values its employees.

To be considered, applicants must hold a valid AZ or DZ license, along with a clean Criminal Record and clean Driver’s Abstract.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating a commercial vehicle
• Valid AZ license preferred; DZ license will be considered
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid knowledge of Ottawa and the surrounding areas
• Must have a clean criminal record and a clean Driver’s Abstract
• Comfortable exiting the truck and using a Moffett to offload products (this is not a dock‑to‑dock position)

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Complete 2–3 scheduled delivery runs per day, ensuring all routes are followed safely and efficiently
• Verify the truck’s pre-loaded contents against the delivery manifest before departure to ensure accuracy
• Transport materials to various job sites primarily within the Ottawa region, with occasional longer-distance deliveries (up to Kingston)
• Operate a Moffett forklift to safely unload materials at each delivery location
• Maintain professional communication with site staff, confirming delivery placement and any required instructions
• Document each delivery by taking clear photos of the items and placement using the company-issued phone
• Support yard operations by assisting with loading trucks for upcoming runs when not on the road
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper equipment handling and adherence to company and site-specific requirements
• Ensure no hand-bombing is performed; all loading and unloading is done using appropriate equipment
• Conduct basic vehicle and equipment checks (e.g., fuel, lights, tires) before each run and report any issues promptly

Schedule: Monday – Friday - 6:00am until 2:30pm to 3:30pm

This position pays $30.00 per hour.
