Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of a Packaging Technician are to pack customer orders and prepare the order for shipment with the appropriate carrier in support of the shipping process accurately and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies
Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products
Weigh, pack, and label completed items for shipment
Identify and dispose of defective packaging materials
Properly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, padding, and tape
Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging
Conducts physical inventory of incoming parts to verify stock count is correct
Uses UPS world ship to ship products
Uses Fedex shipping website to ship products
Uses the ERP Styeline to scan parts out of the system
Final inspection of products
Ability to read and understand parts orders and determine how to send the orders

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from management and supervisors
Ability to read and interpret documents
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
