Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Eastern Time)

About the Role

A nationally recognized specialty brokerage is launching a newly formed Wholesale Cannabis Insurance Division and is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, emerging industry at the ground level.

The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial lines experience across Property & Casualty (P&C), including General Liability, Property, Workers’ Compensation, Products Liability, and Management/Professional Liability. While prior cannabis industry experience is helpful, it is not required.

This role works closely with a senior producer and plays a key part in both new business development and renewal management, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for retail agents, underwriters, MGAs, and internal team members for service and coverage-related inquiries
  • Manage all aspects of daily client service, including quotes, binders, billing, policy changes, and documentation
  • Partner with producers to market new and renewal business across all P&C lines
  • Take ownership of the marketing process, including:
    • Selecting appropriate markets based on risk profiles
    • Gathering and organizing client exposure data
    • Preparing and submitting underwriting submissions
    • Following up with carriers for quotes, policies, and documentation
    • Reviewing and comparing quotes for coverage, terms, limits, and pricing
    • Conducting coverage analysis and binding policies
    • Managing invoicing, policy issuance, and subjectivities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all service and marketing activities
  • Lead renewal processes for assigned accounts
  • Collaborate with management to improve workflows, implement procedures, and support quality assurance initiatives
  • Assist in the rollout of new coverage lines and account setup

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–7 years of Commercial Lines account management experience
  • Valid Property & Casualty (P&C) license
  • Proficiency in agency management systems (AMS 360 and ImageRight preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines coverage and rating procedures
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex insurance concepts to clients and underwriters
  • Understanding of industry trends and marketplace dynamics

  • Ability to anticipate client needs and handle complex or non-routine situations with professionalism and tact

Compensation

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience
