Grinder - Finishing/Polishing

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Grinder/Finisher/Polisher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for grinding, finishing, and polishing metal parts to achieve precise dimensions and smooth surfaces. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing or production environment.

 

Monday - Thursday schedule. $19/hr to start.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Grinding: Operate various grinding equipment such as surface grinders, belt grinders, and angle grinders to shape, smooth, and finish metal parts to meet required specifications.
• Finishing: Remove imperfections, sharp edges, and surface defects from parts using manual or automated tools.
• Polishing: Use polishing tools, buffing wheels, and abrasives to provide a smooth, shiny finish on metal surfaces.
• Inspection: Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Material Handling: Safely handle and prepare materials for grinding, finishing, and polishing operations.
• Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintenance: Maintain equipment in good working order by performing routine cleaning and minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a grinder, finisher, or polisher in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Familiarity with various grinding, polishing, and finishing equipment and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with a variety of materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools and machinery.
• Vision to detect defects and quality issues in products.
