About the Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Inventory Technician to support daily material flow in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on executing inventory transactions, preparing raw materials for production, and ensuring material is accurately cut, staged, and ready to run on machines. The position works closely with production schedules and requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and comfort working directly with raw metals and inventory systems.

 

Duties

  • Receive and verify raw material deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and specifications
  • Perform incoming inspections and manage material certifications to ensure quality and traceability compliance
  • Measure and cut raw materials (primarily metals) to specified lengths using a horizontal band saw
  • Review machine schedules and ensure required materials are cut, issued, staged, and production-ready
  • Maintain accurate lot traceability from supplier material through internal jobs and finished goods
  • Store and move inventory using FIFO principles while maintaining accurate ERP transactions
  • Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and support corrective actions
  • Coordinate with production, shipping, and procurement to prevent material shortages and delays

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support
  • Practical experience operating a horizontal band saw to measure and cut raw metal materials
  • Experience kitting, issuing, and staging materials based on machine or production schedules
  • Ability to read work orders, routings, and schedules to determine material requirements
  • Working knowledge of inventory accuracy practices, including cycle counting and reconciliation
  • Experience transacting inventory in ERP or WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
