Shop Liaison (Drafter)

Salary: $24-$27hr

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter and Shop Liaison to serve as the critical link between our customers and fabrication shop. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of architectural and construction drawings who can effectively translate design intent into practical fabrication requirements. The position is hands-on and collaborative, requiring both technical drafting skills and clear communication across teams.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret architectural and construction drawings to ensure feasibility for fabrication.
• Act as the primary point of communication between clients and the shop, conveying project requirements, constraints, and updates.
• Translate customer needs into clear, actionable instructions for the fabrication team.
• Identify potential design or production issues and proactively recommend solutions.
• Create and modify CAD drawings as needed to support project execution.
• Ensure all drawings and specifications align with shop capabilities, materials, and timelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of revisions, approvals, and project details.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, fabricators, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working with architectural and/or construction drawings.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and shop limitations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm
