Job Description:
A local manufacturing company in the Horseheads, NY area is seeking an experienced Machinist / Machine Operator to join their team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist with strong experience in CNC programming, machine setup, and precision machining.

The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, troubleshooting issues, and supporting overall production efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machines for tight-tolerance production runs
• Troubleshoot complex machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime
• Inspect and verify machined parts using precision measuring instruments
• Ensure all parts meet quality standards and specifications
• Provide guidance and support to less experienced machinists
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on production and technical projects
• Support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and product quality
• Follow all safety, quality, and production standards

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist in a production environment
• Advanced knowledge of CNC programming and machine setup
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Experience using precision measuring tools
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent required
