Position Overview
We are a small, fast-paced scrap metal business looking for a dependable Office Assistant to support daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable handling a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks. As a small operation, the Office Assistant plays a key role in keeping the office organized, customers supported, and the business moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
The Office Assistant will handle a variety of general office and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
- Answering phones and assisting customers in a professional, friendly manner
- Handling basic data entry, filing, and record keeping
- Assisting with invoices, tickets, receipts, and other paperwork
- Maintaining organized physical and digital files
- Ordering office supplies and keeping the office area organized
- Assisting with reports, emails, and basic correspondence
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous office, administrative, or clerical experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using basic computer systems (email, spreadsheets, data entry)
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
