Project Manager-Construction & Manufacturing Projects

Location: Horseheads, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Shift: Day Shift
Pay: Depending on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Construction & Manufacturing Projects to oversee custom fabrication and construction-related manufacturing projects from planning through completion. This role is responsible for coordinating teams, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring high-quality results while maintaining confidentiality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Develop detailed project schedules, establish milestones, and coordinate resources to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and clients to interpret plans and specifications.
  • Provide guidance on materials, finishes, and fabrication methods.

Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and track expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review estimates, negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Quality Assurance

  • Oversee fabrication and installation processes to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform inspections, address deficiencies, and ensure compliance with industry best practices.

Client Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Provide regular updates, manage change orders, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including drafting, engineering, production, and installation personnel.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and foster a collaborative work environment.

Logistics & Scheduling

  • Coordinate material procurement, fabrication timelines, and site activities.
  • Sequence work to support efficient workflow and minimize disruptions.

Risk & Safety Management

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, change orders, drawings, and progress reports.
  • Prepare project closeout documentation upon completion.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong understanding of construction-related manufacturing and custom fabrication processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
