We are seeking a skilled Auto Mechanic/Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and small engines, including lawn equipment, generators, and heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with automotive and equipment repair, and the ability to interpret schematics and electrical systems. Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on automobiles, including diesel engines, using schematics and technical manuals.
• Service and repair small engines such as lawnmowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting, including soldering and wiring repairs, to ensure optimal engine performance.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs efficiently.
• Maintain detailed service records, identify parts needed for repairs or sales, and communicate effectively with customers regarding work performed.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
• Repair heavy machinery components using specialized equipment like Caterpillar parts or similar heavy-duty systems.
• Assist in diagnosing complex mechanical issues involving schematics or electrical systems.
• Support sales efforts by advising customers on maintenance plans or equipment upgrades.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all repair procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Experience

• Prior dealership experience or service technician background is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in automotive repair with knowledge of diesel engines is essential.
• Proven ability to interpret schematics and electrical diagrams accurately.
• Hands-on experience with equipment repair, generator servicing, welding, soldering, and heavy lifting tasks.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy-duty equipment is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including electrical components and mechanical assemblies.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Experience working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanic tools required for diverse repair tasks.
