Service Technician

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Service Technician to support the maintenance, testing, repair, and inventory management of industrial power equipment. This hands-on role involves electrical measurements, component replacement, shop organization, and field service work for state-level clients. The ideal candidate enjoys mechanical work, follows safety standards closely, and takes pride in accuracy and organization.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Record voltage and density readings on industrial power units
• Perform charging and discharging processes and calculate percentage readings
• Document test results accurately and maintain service records
• Replace cells, cables, connectors, and related components
• Clean, neutralize, refurbish, and repaint industrial power equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial power systems 
• Perform lead and cable joining using specialized welding techniques
• Operate hoists, lifts, and various electric and hand tools safely
• Take precise electrical readings using appropriate instruments
• Control, organize, and track new and used industrial power units and charging equipment
• Package equipment for shipment and receipt
• Maintain parts inventory in the stockroom for shop use and resale

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages and read measurements accurately
• Proficiency using rulers and measuring tools
• Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
• Ability to safely operate shop tools and lifting equipment
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
• Prior experience in industrial equipment maintenance, electrical systems, or repair work is preferred 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
• Comfortable working in industrial shop and field environments
• Ability to stand, bend, and work with tools for extended periods
