Salary: 60,000 - 90,000

The transportation supervisor is directly responsible for monitoring assigned drivers’ behavior, attendance, and productivity to achieve maximum results with a hands-on approach to training and field-work. The transportation supervisor will be responsible for instilling our client's Culture and Values to his/her employees and working to create a culture of retention, growth, and commitment to these values within the transportation fleet. The Transportation Supervisor will also monitor assigned drivers' performance to plan in relationship to the driver plan as provided by the planning department in a safe and customer centric manner. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Drivers to ensure safe and value driven employees
  • Partner with Planning team to ensure execution of plan, daily.
  • All drivers are communicated to and watching movement of trucks to ensure most efficient route and only approved breaks are being taken
  • Maintain full understanding and functioning in the SCMS System
  • Maintain full understanding of DOT regulations such as hours of service and product securement and ensure driver compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge equipment capabilities ad rigging requirements with a hands on approach to training and field-operations
  • Consistently monitoring and adjusting to maintain an empty Jeopardy Board
  • Advocate for the customer and our client's team to promote a culture of completion and adherence to customer needs
  • Monitoring and Instilling processes to promote best practices resulting in higher performance to plan
  • Collaborating with Facility Managers, Planning Manager, and CEC Manager to ensure maximum load deliveries
  • Monitor wage and hour requirements and restrictions
  • Service the drivers: Creating a culture with high driver retention and adherence to values

 

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills? 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Valid Class A CDL license, required
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Problem solving: Ability to think clearly through challenges and reach the best possible solution.
  • Communication: Timely and effective communication approach and style.
  • Quality management: Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Initiative and Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and self-starter.
  • Basic computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel, Google Schedule.
