Position Overview

Our client in Shawnee is seeking a skilled Sit-Down Forklift Operator to support the packaging and production side of a busy agricultural products facility. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that combines forklift operation with packaging line support. Candidates must be comfortable staying active and rotating between tasks throughout the shift.

This is not a forklift-only position.

Strong attendance, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a tight warehouse environment are essential. Solid workers who show consistency have the opportunity to be hired on permanently.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down Toyota propane forklift in a tight warehouse setting
• Move large containers of agricultural products including fertilizer and weed control materials
• Rotate onto the packaging line to operate bagging equipment
• Set plastic bags in place for automated filling
• Monitor packaging flow and keep pace with production
• Transport completed pallets from the packaging area to the warehouse using forklift
• Work alongside automated robotics that stack finished bags
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

This role supports the plant/packaging side of the facility and generally does not involve loading or unloading trucks.

• Fast-moving production environment with minimal downtime
• Slightly dusty due to packaging process
• Doors are typically open for ventilation except during extreme weather
• Smaller facility that requires strong maneuvering skills and attention to safety
• Team-oriented crew with steady workflow

Candidates should expect to remain busy throughout the entire shift.

Requirements

• Skilled sit-down forklift experience required (Toyota propane preferred)
• Ability to safely operate in tight spaces
• General warehouse experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Comfortable bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, and sitting throughout the shift
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Drug screen required (including THC)
