Material Handler - 1st Shift

Position Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the facility. This role requires current fork truck (forklift) certification and hands-on experience operating material handling equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Safely operate fork trucks and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, finished goods, and supplies

· Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles

· Transport materials to production, storage, or shipping areas as required

· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against documentation

· Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or inventory systems

· Pick, stage, and prepare materials for shipment or production

· Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance or safety issues

· Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies

· Maintain a clean and organized work area

· Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities

· Collaborate with production, shipping, and warehouse teams as needed

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

· High school diploma or GED

· Valid fork truck / forklift certification

· Proven experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment

· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds

· Basic math and documentation skills

· Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety guidelines

· Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail

Preferred:

· Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment

· Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software

· Additional equipment certifications (pallet jack, reach truck, etc.)

· Strong teamwork and communication skills

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs

· Work performed in a warehouse/manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations

· May require overtime, weekends, or shift coverage based on production needs

 

Work Schedule:

1st Shift - 5:30am until 3:00pm Monday - Friday

 

Pay:

$20-$23/hr
