Experienced Grinders Needed in the Santa Clarita/Valencia Area 

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC gap grinding, O/D, I/D & Gap Grinding machines to machine high-strength steel and aluminum landing gear components to precise aerospace tolerances.
• Perform grinding operations on gap features, ensuring proper material removal while maintaining dimensional integrity and surface finish requirements.
• Operate one or more CNC grinding machines simultaneously, monitoring performance and making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Verify that all machined features meet dimensional tolerances and specifications outlined in shop travelers, engineering drawings, and process instructions.
• Identify and remove defects such as wear, corrosion, or plating buildup within allowable limits defined by repair standards.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Conduct visual inspections and perform finishing operations, including deburring, edge breaking, and surface cleanup as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English to accurately interpret technical documentation and communicate effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality in aerospace components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop travelers, sketches, and inspection reports, including familiarity with OHM and CMM data.
• Knowledge of and ability to identify various surface finishes and coatings, including chrome plating, nickel plating, cadmium plating, and thermal spray coatings.
• Proficient in the use of precision inspection tools, including micrometers, dial bore gauges, telescoping gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators.
• Working knowledge of O/D, I/D & Gap Grinding machine setup, part loading, offsets, and operational adjustments specific to grinding equipment.
• Practical experience with aerospace repair station procedures, inspection methods, materials, tooling, and equipment used in landing gear refurbishment.
