Call Center Representative

We are seeking a professional and reliable Call Center Representative to join a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and typing skills, a consistent work history, and the ability to handle sensitive calls with professionalism and attention to detail. Previous experience in a medical setting is highly preferred, but not required.

Location: Boston, MA
Pay: $21.00–$23.00/hour
Candidates with directly relevant experience, such as hospital switchboard or answering service experience, may be considered for a higher pay rate.
Schedule: Full-time, onsite. Four schedule options available.
Training: Monday–Friday, 10:00am–6:00pm for approximately 2–3 weeks

Schedule Options

This is an essential position within a 24/7 operation. Candidates must be reliable and available to work their assigned schedule, including some holidays and during inclement weather. All positions are fully onsite.

  • First Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Shift falls between 7:00am–6:00pm. Thursday and Sunday off.
  • Second Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Shift falls between 2:00pm–11:00pm. Wednesday and Sunday off.
  • Swing Shift: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Shift falls between 10:00am–8:00pm. Sunday and Monday off.
  • Swing Shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Shift falls between 10:00am–8:00pm. Friday and Saturday off.

Training Requirement: All new hires must be available for Monday–Friday training from 10:00am–6:00pm for approximately 2–3 weeks, regardless of their assigned schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls from patients and medical staff with professionalism and empathy
  • Accurately document and manage sensitive information
  • Provide clear, concise communication and support
  • Navigate systems efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
  • Remain professional and composed when handling sensitive or high-pressure calls

Qualifications

  • Previous call center experience required
  • Medical field experience highly preferred, but not required
  • Hospital switchboard or answering service operator experience is a plus
  • Strong phone presence and excellent communication skills
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
  • Demonstrated job stability and consistent tenure in previous roles
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and sometimes high-pressure situations
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus
  • Reliable and responsible with the ability to meet the requirements of an essential position
  • Must be available to work some holidays and during inclement weather
  • Background check required
