Monday through Friday – 8am to 5pm
$24hr to $27hr depending on experience.
A unique public charter school with the vision to bring together a diverse community of learners where cultural and individual differences are the building blocks of academic, social, and intrapersonal success is seeking a Facilities Technician to join their team in Canoga Park.
Summary: The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and fully operational campus. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of school facilities to ensure an optimal learning environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buildings, equipment, and systems. (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry)
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
- Respond to work orders and urgent repair requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities, including classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records.
Qualifications:
- Must do a preemployment LiveScan and TB Test or TB Risk Assessment Form.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as needed.
