Job Summary

The Loader Operator – Conveyor Systems is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a front-end loader to feed aggregate materials into conveyor belt systems that supply the concrete batch plant. This role focuses on maintaining consistent material flow, preventing conveyor overloads or contamination, and supporting uninterrupted concrete production while adhering to strict safety and maintenance standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate front-end loader to feed aggregates, sand, and raw materials into conveyor hoppers and belt systems
  • Maintain consistent, even material flow to prevent conveyor blockages, spillage, or belt damage
  • Monitor conveyor system performance and adjust loading practices to avoid overloading or material segregation
  • Ensure correct materials are loaded into designated conveyor systems based on mix design requirements
  • Maintain clean, organized stockpiles and conveyor feed areas
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections of loader and visual checks of conveyor systems
  • Remove debris, oversized material, or contaminants that could damage conveyors
  • Communicate with batch plant operators and supervisors regarding material levels and production needs
  • Assist with clearing conveyor jams or shutdowns following lockout/tagout procedures
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and report mechanical or safety issues immediately
  • Follow all safety regulations, plant procedures, and OSHA standards

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–3 years experience operating front-end loaders or heavy equipment
  • Experience working with conveyor systems, aggregate handling, or batch plants preferred
  • Understanding of material flow, belt loading practices, and feed consistency
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to work around moving conveyors and machinery
  • Ability to follow production schedules and instructions accurately

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access conveyor platforms when required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Extended periods of seated equipment operation with repetitive motions

Work Environment

  • Industrial concrete production facility
  • Exposure to dust, noise, moving conveyors, and heavy equipment
  • PPE required at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)

Schedule & Availability

  • Full-time position
  • May include early mornings, overtime, weekends, and seasonal extended hours
