We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating various machining equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, programming CNC machines, and ensuring precision in manufacturing components. The Manual Machinist will play a vital part in producing high-quality parts and assemblies, supporting our commitment to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machinery such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines with proficiency in Fanuc controls
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to produce precise parts
- Program CNC machines using CNC programming languages and SolidWorks for design verification
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Set up and calibrate equipment, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot machining issues
- Utilize blueprint reading skills to verify dimensions and tolerances during production
- Assist with assembly processes when necessary, ensuring parts meet quality standards
- Apply basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during machining operations
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of welding equipment, forklifts, and other tools as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing practices
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role involving machining operations
- Hands-on experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks and blueprint reading skills
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, welding techniques, and assembly processes is preferred
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools effectively
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, forklift operation, and lean manufacturing methodologies is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail to produce high-quality machined parts
Wage: $45.00/Hour
