Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Lab Operations Technician!

Position Summary: The Lab Operations Technician plays a key role in supporting day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring equipment is ready for use, and maintaining a clean, organized, and professional environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. You’ll be responsible for handling materials, preparing equipment for testing, and supporting both internal teams and visiting customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes to safely move and stage materials
• Load, unload, and transport equipment throughout lab and warehouse areas
• Clean, calibrate, and prepare equipment for testing and customer use
• Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming materials and test samples
• Inspect returned equipment for damage and functionality; document findings
• Set up and assist with laboratory testing equipment and procedures
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional lab environment
• Manage inventory of lab supplies and restock as needed
• Support lab staff with testing and equipment-related issues
• Interact professionally with customers and assist during visits or tours
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operating procedures

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 0–2 years of experience in a lab, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic computer and math skills

Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• 7:45am – 4:15pm

Pay:

• $26/hour
