Diesel Mechanic

Location: Medora, IN

Shift: 2nd

Pay: $24-26/hr + $2 shift differential

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably on heavy trucks and diesel engines
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics for troubleshooting
• Must possess necessary tools and ability to safely operate service vehicles and equipment
• Obtain DOT medical certification prior to employment 
• Ability to complete required documentation accurately, both electronically and on paper
• Understanding of and adherence to all safety regulations, with strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles based on maintenance schedules and driver inspection reports (DVIRs)
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete necessary repairs, adjustments, and component replacements
• Inspect, service, and maintain vehicle systems including brakes, electrical, air systems, fluids, and filters
• Maintain accurate service records (time, work orders, and parts usage) and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
• Safely operate, test drive, and perform roadside repairs when needed while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
