Schedule and Compensation

Schedule: Rotating schedule – 3 days one week / 4 days the following week
Training Schedule: One week of training on day shift (5:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Compensation ($/hour): $19.00

Job Summary

A local company in Hermiston is seeking a Clerical – General Office Assistant to support purchasing, inventory, and administrative operations. This role involves reviewing paperwork, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with multiple departments, and assisting with office and supply room tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Review invoices, receiving paperwork, and inventory transactions for accuracy
• Investigate and correct discrepancies by coordinating with plant and corporate resources
• Provide backup support for procurement, scheduling, inventory control, and supply room associates
• Review daily inventory and exception reports in support of procurement operations
• Write purchase requisitions and purchase orders for goods and services as needed
• Evaluate purchase requests for accuracy and completeness
• Monitor and expedite delivery of purchased goods and services
• Coordinate with departments to maintain adequate inventory levels
• Provide updates to requesting departments regarding purchase order status
• Assist departments with closing or canceling purchase orders
• Ensure orders are processed under the correct chart of accounts
• Receive and inspect incoming stock for discrepancies or damage and coordinate with vendors to resolve issues
• Conduct cycle counts of supply room inventory and assist with annual inventory counts
• Process orders and requisitions in support of scheduling as needed
• Work closely with plant and corporate personnel across procurement, logistics, finance, operations, and inventory control
• Maintain compliance with corporate and plant policies
• Participate in cost-reduction initiatives and projects
• Process required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Analyze information to determine effective solutions to problems
• Assist with training and development of associates as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Skills Required
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate math skills

Experience Required
• 1–3 years of relevant administrative or clerical experience preferred
• Proficiency in general computer operations
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with SAP preferred

Other Requirements
• Bilingual Spanish/English required
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment

Education Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required
• Additional education preferred

Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, and walk
• Occasionally required to sit; use hands to handle objects; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50lbs
