Diesel Mechanic

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks and equipment. This role is ideal for hands-on mechanics who take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and keeping equipment operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel engines and related systems
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative services (oil changes, brake inspections, fluid checks, etc.)
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, and brake systems
• Use diagnostic tools, software, and technical manuals to identify and resolve issues
• Complete repairs accurately and efficiently to minimize downtime
• Maintain detailed service records and document work performed
• Follow all safety procedures and shop standards
• Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly with supervisors and team members
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic (truck, fleet, or heavy equipment)
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a shop environment
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused

Preferred Skills

• ASE Diesel Certifications
• Experience working on medium- and heavy-duty trucks
• Welding or fabrication experience
• Familiarity with DOT inspections

Work Schedule

• Full-time, day shift
• Occasional overtime as needed
