Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Orbital Welder for a reputable and growing construction and industrial services company in the Taylor area. Full-Time | Competitive Pay (DOE)

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform orbital fusion welds per QA/QC and project specifications
• Weld metal components using blueprints, diagrams, and work orders
• Set up and operate welding equipment (amperage, voltage, slope, pulse)
• Weld in multiple positions (6G, flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)
• Inspect welds for quality, bead size, and accuracy
• Prepare materials using machine shop equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and construction plans
• Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems
• Select proper tungsten electrodes and shielding gases
• Maintain welding logs and documentation
• Install, inspect, and test piping systems
• Use hand and power tools for pipe installation
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and jobsite regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Assist with mentoring junior team members

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Welding certifications preferred (AMI or similar)
• OSHA 10 preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Strong knowledge of pipefitting and welding techniques
• Basic math skills (geometry/trigonometry)
• Ability to read and create isometric/shop drawings
• Must have personal tools for the trade

 

Work Environment & Expectations

• Shop and/or field work, including confined or tight spaces
• May require overtime, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel
• Strong attendance and reliability are critical
