Job Description:

A manufacturing company in Chesapeake is seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join their team. This role requires hands-on experience in CNC machining, including the ability to set up jobs, read blueprints, and operate equipment independently. The ideal candidate will set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce precision components using CAD software. This position offers a dynamic work environment and opportunities for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Understand and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Independently set up jobs, including tooling and fixtures.
• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM) to verify tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine or tooling issues.
• Select and adjust tooling for optimal machining performance.
• Conduct quality checks during production to meet specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all safety protocols.
• Assist with assembly or material handling tasks as needed.

Requirements (Required – Not Optional):

• Previous CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience setting up CNC machines and jobs independently.
• Familiarity with CAD software for part review and setup.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Solid math skills for dimensions and tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
