Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Auto/Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diesel engines, routine maintenance, diagnostics, and general vehicle repair. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, identifying mechanical issues, and ensuring all vehicles and equipment remain in safe, reliable operating condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repair work on diesel and gasoline engines

• Conduct routine preventative maintenance (PM), including oil changes, filters, and fluid checks

• Inspect and assess vehicles to accurately diagnose mechanical issues

• Perform engine work, including troubleshooting, adjustments, and component replacement

• Complete tire work, including mounting, balancing, and repairs

• Conduct routine inspections of trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles

• Document all repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed

• Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Communicate repair needs and timelines with supervisors and team members

Qualifications

• Diesel mechanic experience preferred

• Experience with engine diagnostics and repair

• Experience performing oil changes and preventative maintenance

• Ability to assess and troubleshoot mechanical issues accurately

• Knowledge of vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, and electrical

• Ability to perform tire work and routine inspections

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions throughout the shift

• Comfortable working in a shop environment
