Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Important Notice:

• Work Location: The actual job position is located in Winchester, KY.

Essential Functions

• Safety & Compliance: Follows all company policies, including the Employee Handbook, Safety Rules and Regulations, and Quality Manual.
• Equipment Operation: Completes internal forklift certification; conducts and documents daily pre-shift inspections.
• Production Support: Supplies component parts, empty totes, raw materials, and Work-in-Process (WIP) to production lines via tugger and forklift.
• Inventory Management: Practices FIFO (First-In, First-Out) at all times and strictly follows the Kanban System for each department.
• Logistics: Transports finished goods and WIP to the warehouse; removes surplus totes, racks, and packaging to the external warehouse.
• Warehouse Maintenance: Pulls and replaces boxes on flow racks; dumps scrap bins; assists with TPM and 5S initiatives for the dock and warehouse.
• Reporting: Alerts the Production Group Leader to irregular situations or low inventory levels within the scope of knowledge.

Skills & Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: At least 1 year of forklift experience (2 years preferred).
• Licensing: Must possess a current Motor Vehicle License.
• Soft Skills: Strong customer service skills and a proven good safety record.

Physical Requirements

• Mobility: Ability to stand for long periods and maneuver throughout the plant.
• Agility: Ability to continuously mount and dismount a forklift or other material handling equipment.
• Stamina: Repeatedly bend, squat, move arms above the head, and move head in all directions (up, down, side-to-side).
• Dexterity: Good hand strength and finger dexterity to grasp various sized objects and rotate wrists, arms, and shoulders.
• Sensory: Good eyesight and hearing are required for a safe manufacturing environment.
• Lifting: Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with potential workplace hazards. All safety rules, regulations, and precautions must be strictly implemented when working around machinery and chemicals to ensure personal and team safety.
