Job Title: CNC Milling Machinist | $28 - $35 DOE | Sugar Land

Position Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting on behalf of a client located in Sugar Land for an experienced CNC Milling Machinist. This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and/or 5-axis)
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
Program, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks
Monitor machine performance and adjust offsets, speeds, and feeds as needed
Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to minimize downtime
Maintain proper documentation for production and quality records
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

Qualifications:

3+ years of CNC milling experience (5+ years preferred)
Strong ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T principles
Experience with CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar)
Proficiency in G-code programming and/or CAM software
Experience machining tight-tolerance, precision parts
Skilled in the use of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade certification preferred

Preferred Skills:

Experience with multi-axis machining (4th/5th axis)
Familiarity with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
Experience machining a variety of materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, plastics)
Knowledge of tool life management and process optimization
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail

Work Environment:

Manufacturing / machine shop setting
Exposure to machine noise, coolants, and metal shavings
Required use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection)
